Curry, pastor of Grace Methodist church, while riding a bicycle in Canal street, Monday morning, was run down by an auto- mobile owned by C. G. Parker, now at Watch Hill and operated by John Dowling. The bay was taken into the office of Dr. John L. May who found a deep cut in the back of his head which was closed with two stiches. The boy’s back was severely bruised. The injuries are not of a serious na- ture. The Curry boy retained conscious- ness during all the surgical and med- ical treatment, in fact did not shed a tear or utter a word significant of pain. He had been in the office less than a minute when he voluntarily told the doctor, that the chav ur was not at fault. The boy said: “I came out of Mr. Murphy's store, mounted my bicyele, and rode diagonally across the street, ing fast or slow, but insisted that the accident was due to his own ca s- ness. He did not know whether the auto horn was sounded, but if it was he_did not hear it. Mr. Dowling stated he wa driving very slowly in swinging from High street into Canal street, where the accident occurr the boy drove his bicycle f the au- tomobile, evidently to take the extreme right hand of the road The bicycle moved quickly to the right, that the auto could not e stop- ped in time to avert the accident.
