T4 Dom't forget the popular excursion [to Newport Tues particulars of [which are given in advertisement in |today’s issue. The very low rate of fare brings the trip within the Teach of all, and those contemplating going are liable to disappointment if they delay purchasing tickets until the {morning of the excursion The trip from New London on the |New London Line steamer Lowell, in connection with this sion, makes it one of the most charm- ing water trips of the season. X o A Patriotic Service. [ "The Battle of Gettysb | trated stereopticon slides will given by Rev. Joel C. Slocum, D. D. at the Central ¥ morrow ‘Columi “America,” beautifully iliustrated from the screen. The entire service will be of a pa- triotic char: Norwich Has Attractions July Fourth, Preparedness parade h it is expected that ten thous- Besides the bi in wl and people will participate, the motor- cycle ang_ bicycle race meet at the Norwich Fair Grounds, which will be after the biz parade, at 8.45 p. m., will be one of the banner attractions of the big. Norwich celebration. Fast rid- ers, big purses and an attractive band concert is sure to bring a big crowd out to the old Fair grounds which thave been put in perfect order for the big day’s meet. | The racing cara has been arranced, jncluding some of the fastest riders [from Springfield. Bridgeport. Boston, {New York, Providence and Worcester. as well as some of the fast local riders |who are always big atiractions at the ‘meets. Tt has been especlally plan- imed by the management to see that {the' races are pulled off without any delay: All riders are warned to be on hand, ready with their machines at three “o'clock, thus assuring that at 345 the races will be started as per schedule. t The admission has been reduced to twenty-five cents for adults and ten cents for boys under tw vears, No doubt all who will visit Norwich jwill make it a point to visit the Fait grounds to witness the races and wil {haye time to return for he fireworks in the evenine. ‘A prominent caterer will be in charge at the Fair grounds so that all who may desire lunch and re- freshments ma amply supplied. ¢« Tubbs' bana en engaged to play special cc muste, to add to the attraction. ¢ Buffalo Bill—101 Ranch Coming. A great deal of preliminary interest has been aroused hy the announce- ment that the Buffalo Bill-101 Ranch ghow is to exhibit in Norwich, Mon- day, July 10, and there is mo doubt that there will be a big crowd -on hand fo see the strenuous performances {promised for this notable exhibition. | A great show is promised, and what 18 especially interesting is the an- nouncement that Buffalo Bill will ab- golutely be “in the £addle at both per- formances.” The performance will in- troduce the great military spectacle, eparedness,” which has aroused a tremendous amount of interest and enthusiasm, and which has the en- {dorsement of the U. S. War Depart- ment; a battle between white set- tlers and Indians; scenes from the early days in the Far West, when the Borferland was In the making; the metual life of the great cattle ranch- s, with its sports ane dangers, in- ‘cluding a realistic round-up of long- /horned Texas cattle, and many other strenuous and exhilarating displays | Naturally, the greatest interest will be concentrated upon the “Prepared- nees” spectacle, for that is a sub- fect that is very much in the public consclousness at the present time. Realism is given to thss striking mil- itary display by the fact that the par- iticlpants are soldiers furloughed from {the United States army especially to appear in this patriotic production /There are reviews, marches, sabro drills,” cavalry charges, artillery prac- tice, and a sham battle, in which every branch of the service is strenuously utflized. There will only be two performances in this city, but they will be complete in every way. They will take place at 2.15 and 8.15. At 1030 there will be a big military and Far West pa- rade, in which the processional re- sources of the big street will be gen- erously displayed. AT THE AUDITORIUM. ; Fourth Episode of The Mysteries of . Myar, and “He Fell in Love With With His Wife,” Features Today. “Another strong Saturday show has been secureq by the management of the Auditorium today and consists of the Uallas Paramount five reel fea- |ture, “He Fell in Love With His Wife,” taken from the book of the same name by B. P. Roe. Florence Rockwell is featured in the cast and other prom- Inent players who will be seen are Page Peters, Lydia Titus, Howard Davies and Reins Graff. The story is an unusual one and makes a very fine photo drama. The fourth episode of the Mysteries of Myra, featuring Jean Southern and Howard Estabrook and another of the Nagoleon the Great, and Sally His Mate. monkey comedies will be shown. The big Paramount feature for next Monday and Tuesday will be Blanche Sweet in The Plasklist. by Willlam DeMille and Marion Fairfax. The pic- ture wijl be presented by the Jesse L. Feature Play company, and in which the much deposed system of “black-lising” of emploves of big concerns is exposed. Other exccllent photoplays will also be shown on Monday and Tuesday's bill. The management of the Auditorium has arranged to have an expert cam- era man on the job in Norwich all day the Fourth of July and he will catch any Interesting events which are to occur in town on that day including a motion pleture of the big Prepared- ness parade to be hetd In the after- noon. This camern has been loaned by one of the biz picture concerns to the management of the Auditorium for that day and excellent. pictures are bound to be forthcoming as his equip- ment s very complete and the very best to be had. Four Shows Today, 1.30, 3.15, 645 and 845 — Koith Vaudeville, Triangle Photoplays and Charlie Chaplin in His Latest Comedy. There will be four shows at the Davis today, at 1.30, 3.15, 6.45 and 8.45, and the show today is one of the < attractions of the season. Head- the bill is Fremont Brenton and company, who present a clever com- edy sketch called Handkerchief No. 15. This act has been a big laughing hit the past two days and some of the company have played in this theatre with the Poli players in days gone by. Another excellent act is the Faxin Sis- ters, two winsome girls who do a re- fined singing and change act. Both have beautiful voices and are a treat to listen to. F. Dalmer is the third act and he tells jokes while all the time he is busy drawing funny cartoons. His act is one everyone will like. In the photoplays the Triangle feature is called A Child of the Paris Streets. with Mae Marsh and Tully Marshall as the stars. This is one of the most interesting_ Triangle offerings ever presented here. The comedy is fur- nished by Charlie Chaplin, the greatest comedian on the screen today, in his latest and greatest fun-maker, called The Fireman. If you miss seeing this you will surely regret it, for Charlie is sure some fireman. For the first half of next week another excellent bill has been booked of both Triangle CHARLIE CHAPLIN, At the Davis Today pictures and vaudeville. The big fea- ture will be Dunbar's Maryland Sing- , five talented artists who present one of the most pleasing musical of- ferings in sdeville. On Tuesday, July 4th, there will be a continuous performance from 12 noon until 10.3¢ D. m. COLONIAL: THEATRE. The feature picture at the Colonial day is The Spider's Web, Essanay ma in three parts.
