A heavy thunder shower passed over here on Wednesday of last week at 3.30 P. M. The lightning struck here in & number of places. A tree near the home of H. H. Crowell, received the largest bolt, which tore up a large hole and threw rocks into the highway. A telephone pole which held the long twisted wire to Mr, Crowell's home, w livered to the ground. The tele- Phone was ruined. Mrs. Willlam R, Spooner, who lives just across the highway, was thrown from her chair, with a baby in her arms, by the shock.
