Hatch to Norwich jail. Sparrow Goes to Jail. Monday evening at the request of Prosecuting Agent H. H. Burnham of Jewett City, Constable Hatch arrest- ed Sparrow for violation of the lquor law. On Tuesday he was pre- sented before Justice John Gorman on the charge of reputation. After hearing the evidence Justice Gorman fined the accused $100 and costs. Herbert and two sons, John and Lioyd, and his Dbrother, Bdmond Herbert, took _an automobile trip to New ~Hampshire and return, making calls on relatives and friends at Worcester and Fitch- burg, Mass. and Greeneville, Winchen- don and Winchendon Springs, New Hampshire. Davis: prayer was offered and a report of the last meeting was read by the secretary. The report of the treasurer for the last sfx months was given and the grange voted to accept it. The meet- ing was closed in form and then all were invited outside, where an enclos- ure had been bullt of white birches in front of the barn and the grounds were lighted with Japanese lanterns.
