I Methedist Bell Rings Welcome to New | Year—Vaccination of School Chil- dren—Musical Club’s Social. New Year's eve was celebrated in| the Methodist Episcopal church, spe- | cial services being held. At § o'clock| the parishioners gathered for services,| consisting of pravers and the singing of hymns, until 10 o'clock. From this hour until a few minutes to midnight a social time was enjoyed. Sandwiches, cake and coffee were served. About two minutes before midnight the bell nwthe tower began to peal, and every- one lent & hand in pulling the rope, ushering in with joy and gladness the new year, 1914. This custom of ring- ing the bell is an old one and is car out every year. School Children Vaccinated. The children of the public_ school were vaccinated Wednesday afternoon by Drs. L. G. Bourret and James G. Burr. Although the children were not forced to submit themselves to the vac- cinstion, very few of them objected. Musical Club’s Social. The Baltic Musical club gave a dance and social New Year's eve in the new St Jean's hall. The evening's merrymiking commenced with a grand coucert by the home talent orchesira, a new musical urganization recently formed, with Prof. Moise Lafreniere director. The selections were very pleasing. After the concert, dancing was enjoyed by a large numiber until midnight, When &n intermission of half an hour ‘'was allowed, during which light refreshments were served.
