Ellis leased land at Wood River Junction of Horace Swan, who in turn leased the land to the Swan Granite company and Ellis wants the lease cancelled. The trover and conversion case of D. Chase, special police officer for the season at Watch Hill, has been called in. Policeman Lanphear will be the solitary sentinel during the dreary nights of winter duty he has well performed for many years. Policeman Chase is now on day service i in Westerly village while regular of- ficers are attending superior court in Kingston.
