Faster at the Congregational church the edifice was prettily decorated by the ladies. In the morning two an- théms were sung by the choir. During the Sunday school an exercise, The Message of Light, was giver by the school, commemorating both Kaster and Livingstone's birthday. An Easter cantata, Tor, was successfully given in th> evening with special music by the choir. Livingstone Honored The Junior Endeavor society held a special Livingstone service Saturday afternoon. Margaret Tucker led the Jneeting. Al children have been in- vited to join this society. Missionary Meeting. Wednesday of last week the March issionary meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Angus Park. A very in- teresting programme was carried out. Readings on_the life of David Living- slone by Mrs. M. Fuller and the president. Mra A B. Ladd, were very nteresting. Duets by Mrs. Angus Park and Miss Margaret Eadie were finely rendered ang called forth many xpressions of appreciation. Mr. and Mrs. William Doyle of Wor- rester were entertained at the home of Mr and Mrs, Frank Doyle over Sun- day. Miss Jennie A. Collins, who has been pending several days with her father, Collins, has returned to Grantwood, J.. to resume her duties as teacher in the Grantwood school. Opening Ball Game Today. A special meeting of the Hanover Atkletic club was recently held at the Slub room in the Airlie building to or- ganize a baseball team for the coming season. Herbert J. Croft was elected maneger and Cocil Balkcom captain. The weather permitting, the team ex- pects to play the opening game today | (Saturday). The "Old Mystic schools closed on Thursday for the Baster recess. NORTH STONINGTON in the Samuel Observance of Easter of Mrs. Special Churches—Funeral Thompson. Easter, the Congregational church was beautifully decorated with green- house flowers contributed by different members of the church. The choir preached an appropriate sermon. The Faptist pulpit was occupied by Rev. J. Howard Adams of Rockville, who had been unexpectedly called to town. In the evening the Sunday school gave an Easter concert to a full house. The exercises were conducted by the su- perintendent, George H. Stone. They had been arranged by Mrs. Stone and the church organist, Miss Grace Shef- feld. Funeral of Mrs. Thompson. The funeral services of Mrs, Fran- ces M. Thompson, widow of Samuel Thompson,were heid at her home Sun- day afternoon, Rev. J. Howard Ad- ams, a former pastor and intimate friend of the family, officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler cemetery, grand- sons acting as bearers. Mrs. Thomp- son was 85 years of ags. She is sur- Vived by two sons and four daughters, all reeiding in this town. She was a woman of pleasing personality and had an extensive acqueintance and many friends. On Western Trio.
