Griswold Command. The newly elected officers of R. S. Griswold command, U. S. W. V,, were installed at a largely attended meet- ing held Wednesday evening at the armory. A large number of ladies were included in the gathering and an important action of the meeting was the appointment of a committee to make preliminary plans for the or- ganization of a ladies’ auxillary to the command. Past Department President Mrs. Berry of Hartford and Com< manding President Mrs. J. Murphy of New London addressed the meeting on the benefits of such en auxiliary. * The installation took place in the big drill shed, which was still gay with the aftractive decorations arranged for the governor’s ball. Watt of Montville, execu- trix of the estate of Agnes M. Watt, Iste of Montville, has brought suit against D. W. Guile, administrator of the estate of Mrs. Louisa Parker of Norwich, for $10,000 damages, for an alleged abortion performed on Agnes Watt Aug. 20, 1912. The papers are returnable the first Tuesday in March before the superior court. The alleged abortion attracted con- siderable attention at the time. The operation ig alleged to have been per- formed at Mrs. Parker's home. The girl later went to her home in Mont- ville, where paritonitis set in and ex- amination revealed traces of criminal abortion. The girl was removed to Memorial hospital, where on the af- oon of Oct. 5 she didd.
