FULL ASSOCIATED PRESS DESPATCHES CLADY TODAY; UNSETTLED. ".RAIN OR SNOW TUESDAY NORWICH, CONN., MONDAY, DEC. 23, 1912. Arst crime,.that of theft. The shock 5 this dlsgrace brings an attatk of \plpllxy on the father, which resuits n blindness, and from that moment on t is a sudden drop to bamkruptcy for ‘he once honored family. When it is 00 late the son realizes his error and ietermines to begin life anew, and im- mediately, starts for South Africa. Aft- er a bewildering series of mishaps and many fegrful-hardships, which devel- op.the better side of his and he returns to his native land—a man. This picture is onme of the season’s biggest attractions, and being of this unusual length the evening’s perform- ances will begin at 7 o'clock, the sec- ond ‘show_going on at 8.304 Nuggets. for Christmas. Everybody is trying to think of the best Christmas present for a man, but it is- not difficult to select one for the fellow who smokes There thousands of different brands of igars offered for sale all over the country, but ‘right here in Norwich are made two that are the equal of any. »They perhaps do not cost as much as some of those with national reputations, but there are none better made. Take the New Avant, a five ¢ent cigar that is better than the great majority of those selling for more money, and you'll find difficuity in telllng it from many ten cent cigars sold hereabouts. The “Nugget” is a ten cent cigar and worth the price. Both have won a great reputatjon all over..Qonnecticut, so much so that twenty-five men are constantly em- ployed in making them. You can buy them of any dealer or of the mam faeturer, George P- Madden. Buy bok of either and féel ‘sure you are giving a present that, will please any smoker. a ' At the Davis. At a time when dramalic offerings with a decided leaning in the direction of religious thought and incident seem to appeal to the theatre-going public it will be of interest to note that Mr. Harrington Reynolds, lately a star of the original Rosary company, is to be presented by A. G. Delameter in a new play by Neil Twomey, The An- gelus, “In the Rosary, Mr. Reynolds will“be long remembered for hig ex- cellent portrayal of Father Kelly, and it will be of interest to know that the character to be impersonated by him in his new piece, The Angelus, will also be that of a parish priest, Father O'Brien, and will possess many of the characteristics which endeared the genlal, whole souled priest to the many thousands that witnessed the former play. Whjle, as the title will indi- cdte;'The Angelus has a religious theme woven through- the plot, it is hy no means of a sombre nature. The dram- atic Interest is unbounded and the clean, wholesome comedy that carries through the entire story contributes to a most delightful entertainment, pku-elements that must appeal to even the most critically inclined. At the Davis. Por the second time in the month a first class novelty musical act will be offered. This time it is The Four Magnanis as the Street Pavers of Par- ll. for which they carry their own and- electrical effects.
