Wildfire, It was three years ago next month that Lillian Russell appeared here in thie interesting drama, Wildfire, which is the attraction this week at Polis. The great actress was a stunner in the role of Mrs. Barrington, and is Helaine Hadley this week, her in- terpretation of the part being most pleasing. This racing play has a love story running through it, which excites the interest and holds the close atten- tion of the audience. An excellent bit of work is done by Fay Baker as the stable boy in the handling of the latest offerings in slang, while Henry Carleton as the trainer adds life and snap to the ac- tion. Tome Moore, in the role of Jchn Garrison, a lover of horses and suitor for the hand of Mrs. Barrington, play- ed with his characteristic abiiily, while John A. It was believed that in such a case nothing could be done, as it is simply the trade of one merchant in as many cities as he can do business. James Kane Was the Announcer Dur- iy the Summer, James Kare, who has been traveling | through the summer with a Wild West show, where he did the announcing act in the big ring, is back here for the winter months. The show season came to an end sooner than had been ex- pected because the tent was torn o pieces in a wind storm while they were showing in Syracuse the week that I.armey Oldfield went through the fence with his automobile and Kkilled a nuinber of spectators. When the windstorm ripped the tent. the show management decided to end their season and distanded the com- pany. 'They had a good vear, assem- bling in Baltimore in the spring, tour- ing the south and then jumping to Canada so as to work back this way by fall. Mr. Kane expects next season to have u side sinow of his own at Rocky Point, with a partner doing a snake charming act. 1 AT THE AUDITORIUM. Vaudeville and Motion Pictures. One of the best vaudeville and mo- tion picture bills seen at this house in a long time was presented Monday to big houses at both afternoon and cve- ning performances at the Auditorium. Alfredo opened the vaudeville part of the programme with his violin selec- tions which he played with exceptional skill ana technique and made an in- stantaneous hit. ITis numbers were well chosen and finely executed. LeFevre and St. John presented a pleasing singing, talking and dancing skit with several changes cof costume and a .ot of new and original talk, which kept the audience in good hu- mor from start to finish. The meritor- jous work of these two acts made an excellent opening for the king of all comedy hijeycle acts, the cling Bru- nettes, who kept everybody wondering and roaring at their skilful but funny pranks on their different bicycles and monocycles. introduction of Mr. Brunette's conception of the modern motor: The motion picturss were all class. own ATTENDED CHICAGO CONVENTION R. Dyspepsia, Gas, Indigestion Heartburn Go and You Feel Fine in Five Minutes. and Every family here ought to keep some Diapepsin in the house, as any one of you may have an attack of In- digestion or Stomach trouble at any time, day or night. This harmless preparation will di- gest anything you eat and overcome a distressed, out-of-order stomach five minutes afterward. If your meals don’t tempt you, or what little you do eat seems to fill vou, or lays like a lump - of lead in your stomach, or if you have heart- burn, that is a sign of indigestion. Ask your Pharmacist for a 50-cent case of Pape’s Diapepsin, and take a little just as soon as you can. There will be no sour risings, no belching of undigested food mixed with acid, no stomach gas or heartburn, fullness or heavy feeling in the stomach, Nau- sea, Debilitating Headaches, Dizziness or intestinal griping. This will all go, and, besides, there will be np sour food left over in the stomach to poison your breath with nauseous odors. Pape's Diapepsin is a certain cure for out-of-order stomachs, because it prevents fermentation and takes hold of your food and digests it just the same as if your stomach wasn't there.
