There was a large anendance at the meéting in the conference rooms in the Williams block Saturday evening to devise ways and means for a cele- bration of the opening of the trolley line to this village, which it is expected will be completed within the next four avs. The sentiment of the meeting was strongly in favor of a celebration for the entertainment of the officials of the Groton & Stonington St. Railway company, their friends and guests, and it marks the appreciation of the in- habitants of this village for the public convenience which the extension of a branch line te this place affords. Res- olutions were adopted, and the neces- sary commitieessappointed to make the eelebration an enjoyable one. It is planned, weather permitting, to serve a collation in Lamphere's park, direct- Iy opposile the terminus of the line. This will be followed .by brief ad- dressee by a number of those present.
