The summ‘:r edition of mtl':e Cor;; ticne Guide, containing Tevise les, has just come from the press,/and is up to the usual high order of excellence, and includes some addi- tional features. For the purpose of fa- cilitating the use of the Guide, sep- arate indexes for the steam and trolley tables have been added, which prove valuable in quickly locating the desir- ed table, as the towns are alphabet- ically arranged. Steamboat time of sailing are given, and the time tables are included in the issue. The Con- necticut League Baseball schedule is printed in the volume. An important addition is the publication of the Springfield steam and_trolley time tables. Published by E. W. Bennett, New Britain, Conn. World's Greatest Comedy Bicyclists at the Auditorium. As a special feature for the first three days of next week the manage- ment have secured The Hueman Trio, known as the world's greatest bicyclists and who have just finished engage- ments in some of the best and largest vaudeville houses in this part of the countr; This act is something cut of the ordinary; it has made a hit every where, and should prove a strong drawing card here. Watch for their famous c¢ne mile race. The Lazarros, street musicians and singers, present a very funny musical sketch, -introduc- ing many new and novel features. Sa- die Clafflin, a very clever character singer, will complete the vaudeville part of the entertainment. Grenadier Roland, the special released motion picture film. of which so much has been said, will be shown here two day: only, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. ' BREED THEATER. “A Sane Fourth of July” Attracts Im- mense Audiences. ‘Without doubt the picture that has created more favorable commgnt than any other fine and appealing film of the year is the one now being shown to countless throngs daily at the Breed theater. Many of the public school children who had been urged by the principals of their respective schools attended in great numbers, and many more will be in attendance today. There iz a great lesson to be derived from this picture, and its qualities as an educator cannot be too highly rec- ommended, being produced in co-op- eration with Russell Sage foundation, department of child hygiene, commit- tea on prevention of blindness. There is a powerful story which ®inds t're instructive incidents togeth- er, deaiing with a mayor of a small town who is appealed to by a young | widow to pass an ordinance for a sane | Fourth. He is afraid of the political | bosses, who are in league with the dealers in fireworks, and is fearful of not being re-elected as mayor if a sane Fourth is passed upon, so postpones | it unt'l another year. Meanwhile his | motherless daughter n terribly burn-| el with expiosives, and th son is horribly blinded by a prematura‘ explosion, and he is brought to see the | folly of the old-fashioned Fourth. The children are nursed back grad- ually to health during the yvear fol- lowing, and when the next Fourth ar- rives he takes the matter whoily into his own hands and promotes a sane Fourth. The entire celebration, consisting OM parades, dances, athletic events, and an evening of ‘fireworks, given under thP‘ city’s own direction. is shown, with | highh successful res nd while the | with orks the lit- | (lb widow, reali: g that the mayor | had done all he could, seeks him out! of the throng and. placing her hand in his as in former )ears, renews the old | time friendship, and pledges peace to! the only man she loves. Coming next week as singer for the Breed is Miss Etihel Knowlton, prano, of Philadelphia, whose splendid work makes her one of the most suc- cessful singers of the day. SUNDAY SUBJECTS.
