The cars will iina up in nine lines of five cars each and at the signal they will follow the pace- maker, who vill be instructed to make the round at the rate of 40 miles an hour. In this manner the field will be in motion and the positions will have beeg taken when the actual start is made. Bombs to Start Racers. The method eof giving the starting signal is a novel one. Daylight bombs, which explode 250 feet in the air and glve forth dense smoke, will be used. One of these will be fired each minwute for five minutes before 10 o'clock, tha starting hour. Preparations have been made for handling a_crowd of 100.000 spectators, while parking space for 10,000 automo- biles has been provided.
