The new almshouse, which has heen in process of building by Perry Bros., was officially inspected Monday and accepted by the selectmen. Owing to the changeable weather the plaster does not dry as expected, consequent- ly it will be unoccupled for some time vet, as the selectmen thought it best not to move the inmates into the new building until all dampness is dried up. The Ladies’ Aid society held an en- tertainment and rair in the grange halt on Saturday evening with a large at- tendance. A laughable drama waw enacted which occupied a large part of the evening. Appropriately decorated booths hel home-made articles which found ready sale. The financlal results were entirely satisfactory. A good sum being added to the treasury. Meeting of Local Grange.
