My Grader Is a Success With Any Kind of The Strese Grader works as well on clover and alfalfa seed as on wheat, oats or barley. It takes out the small and light-weight grains as well as the weed s and chaff., I use the air- blast method, which carries off eyery- thing that is uniler weight and drops all heavy substances in a separate eon- tainer. This grader separates the per- fect seed from weed seed, etc., as care- fully as though each grain was weighed separately. When mustard, quack grass, etc., get a start, it is hard to rid toe land of them. Plant clean seed on clean land and avoid trouble. The Strese Grader Insures Clean Seed It turns easily by hand, but is equip- ped with pulley for belt attachment. Each machine is gunaranteed by the manufacturer. Send for prices and descriptive circular and suggest the name of a dealer through whom you would like to buy if ‘satisfied. E. F. Strese Co. 1301 Central Ave., Minneapolis, Minn. Mo. -Mention: the Leader When Writing Advertisers o WOMEN MUST VOTE Dear Nonpartisan Sisters: women of the Nonpartisan league going to vote at our next elec- tion? I have asked this question of some of the women and many say “I don’t know,” but I hope that they do know by next fall. If they don’t it will be too late then. If, in our own work, we say we may wash next weck but we don’t know, and if we don’t know when next week comes I think it will slip by. We need ambition with our work and with the Nonparti- san league. If we don’t have it we will stay where we are today. I had one woman tell me that she didn’t like to go to vote as there are most all men folks there. But if you go shopping and there are all men folks in the store, are you going home without your stuff? I think not, as you feel you need your stuff, and you need your vote just as badly. If you don’t vote right you can just keep on working for the city folks, for the only way to get food i§ by raising it from the ground, which feeds every living creature and person. ' . MRS. MARTIN SCHAEFER. Parker, S. D. SUGGESTS TOPICS Editor Nonpartisan Leader: Let us use the woman’s page for the discus- sion of such questions as: How can women help in public affairs? - Why shocld women be inter- ested in politics? In order to use the ballot intelligently, should women study public questions? ; Regarding Mrs., C.’s questions in the January i2 Leader, “Are the women interested in politics? If not, how can you get them interested?” The first question is not difficult to answer. But the latter—ah! that is a problem. - Our first step is organ- ization, and regular get-together meetings, and with the aid of an oc- casional good lecture the feat can be accomplished. - Just so soon as women realize the fact that to vote is_a duty as well as & privilege, they will take an interest in government. 50 Miss Florence ‘Allen showed the right spirit in resigning her position. ANGELINA M. CROSS. Charlo, Mont. - MISS ALLEN AND MRS. C. The Leader has been swamped wih letters from farm women commentin s upon Miss Florence E. Allen’s resiz- nation from the woman’s national Democratic committee, as a protezt against compulsory military traininz, and the suggestion of Mrs. C. of Ca'- umet, Mont., that the woman’s ‘paze be given over to discussion of public affairs rather than recipes. Practical: ly without exception the writers azree that Miss Allen did right and tha‘ Mrs. C.’s suggestion is a good one. I | is impossible to print all the letters, or even extracts from all of them.
