C. Townley to another term as president of the League. Read these instructions carefully. No ballot will be mailed to you under separate cover. You will have to cut the ballot off the bottom of this page. After cutting out the ballot on the lower half of this page, read it all carefully. Then mark a cross, - or “X,” in one of the two squares indicated. Make only one cross. If you approve of the action of the national committee in re-elect- ing Mr. Townley, 1.ark your cross in the square opposite the words: “For A. C. Townley for president of the League.” If you disapprove of the action of the national committee in re-electing Mr. Townley, mark your cross in the square opposite the words: “Against A. C. Townley for presidént of the League.” ' After you mark your cross, carefully fill out the rest of the ballot, writing your name, postoffice address and state in the proper blank spaces. section, township and range where your farm is located. All League members are entitled to vote, whether they are in ar-~ rears in their dues or not, or whether or not they have re-enrolled for another two-year membershlp period. The members of the referendum canvassing board have been announced, having been appointed by the national committeé which just fimshed its session at St. Paul. The referendum canvassing board, which will count your ballot and those of all other League members, congists of the following: Lynn J. Frazier, governor of North Dukota. David Evans, candidate of the farmer-labor forces for governor of Minnesota in the late election. Charles A. Lindbergh, candidate of the farmer-labor forces for the Republican nomination for governor in the Minnesota primaries last spring. H. F. Samuels, candidate of the League for governor of Idaho in the late election. Mark P. Bates, candidate of the League for governor of South Dakota in the late election. These men received the solid vote of League members in the prlmarles and election, together getting 500,000 to ,000 votes, and in the minds of the national committee have the confidence of the League membership and of the friends of the League generally. A word as to the importance of this referendum. The refer- endum can not be a complete success unless it is a fair expression of the membership of the organization—unless enough of you vote to make it decisive. Every member should vote. .Let nothing hin- der you from filling out the blank and sending it in NOW—at once. Don’t even wait till tomorrow. Mr. Townley’s present term ex- pires January 1, and it is 1mportant that all ballots be in and counted by that time. Below is the ballot: ! NATIONAL NONPARTISAN LEAGUE - BALLOT . Follow instructions carefully. Every member of the Nonpartisan league is entitled to vote, whether hls dues are paid to date or not or whether or not he has re-enrolled for another‘two years. ALL members can vote and no member should neglect the opportunity. The success of this referendum depends on getting as near a unanimous expression of League mem- bers as possible.
