In Csnada, efl‘crts on the part of . women 1o secure the franchise throngh-, out the dominion have gone hand in hand with an effective program of effort for political and social reforms covering a. wide field of- effort. The work of the- Canadian - women was mentioned in ’a | letter we received g few wecks aga from Mrs, 8, V. Haight, vice president of the ‘Women’s ‘Section of the Grain Growers’ Association of Saskatchewan, an organ- -dzation which has no exact parallel on this: side of the line. -A glance over the program . recently framed by the women of the executive committee of the Equal Franchise league, . which is a league of-several women’s- organizations, shows that: the.problems in which Canadian women are interested closely parallel the ' most advanced reform efforts of women.in ‘the Umtéd_ States. It is a progiram that shows, too, howw much can be accomplished politically even without the ballot and how Cana- dian women arg proving themselves worthy of the ballot by a. living and intelligent interest in ‘public problems. iFollowing is the. program as adopted at the recemt meeting of the Equal Franchise league: 1.
