Many times we are obliged to do things which we very - much regret to do, but there is no way to avoid it. One of the bad habits the farmers of this state have is that of paying ten and twelve per cent interest to . banks for their credits. True, this is not all their fault and many have resolved to quit it. But such resolutions are ineffective unless made strong by the collective reso- lution of all the farmers. We must watch closely and guard catefully and learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. We must also resolve in our hearts to turn a deaf ear to the siren song of the professional politician. This habit has been fruitful of much disappointment and grief to the farmers in the state. Let’s resolve to cut it out. ' *And finally, let us resolve to stick together. That is the only way out of the wildernness. . Depose the self- appointed-leaders, who set themselves up as saviors of the farmers, and guide ourselves. United we can stand against the whole gang; divided we will be preyed upon in the future just as we have in the past.
