The street speculators are again loaded up with rumors from of the efforts to wevent contraction, and prices now depend entirely upon the action of Congress, There ia but little outside support to stocks, and the warket is in the bands of spoculators who hold large blocks of stocks and seize’eagerly on any ramor that may ad- vanoe priees, 8o that they may be able to retire with o moderate lose. Stocks continne to be delivered with great irregularity, as is always the case ona sharp decline jn the market, but the amounts of stocks still beld on loans, to be sold if the market rallies, is very large, and at each advance a lurge crowd of anxions holders appear who only de- sire to get ont, and unless there is something done to help speculation prices must seck a much lower level.
