NEW YORK. HERALD, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15, THE MARKS’ OUTRAGE. 1 the Fifty-seventh Street Court, yesterday after- n, Kitty Lhompson, cook, housekeeper and maid All work in the saloon of John Flynn, No. 1,15 davenue, where Philip Marks, tailor, of No. ridge street, claims to have been detained against . will after having been beaten at Billy eGlory's “Windsor Palace,” was examined # a witness in the case, She said she was in the bar when Marks came in alone, asked for lodging and gave $z for 4 room, She was positive he did not come in acarriage, but could not gay trom where he had come, It Was about nine o'clock on the morning of Saturday or Sunday, and she noticed no cuts about his tace, although it was swollen and plastered near the cye. During his stay she supphed him with food, receiving no pay for the same, but giving it to him because his illness ex- cited her sympathy, ‘The door of his room was not locked, nor was he under any restraint. She suid she knew McGlory and was sure he had not visited the place while Marks was the Gould, the Destospers William Langshuw and herself slept in the house. Langshaw and Flynn were then rearraigned and the former was charged by Marks with being one of those by whom he was detained in Flynn's saloon. He testified to the same facts, as above told, and said bloodstained handkerchiet found on his person ‘was his own, and. not Marks’, as claimed by the latter. Fiypn and Jangebaw were then locked up.
