FIRES. A FURNITURE FACIORY BURNED. ‘The extensive furniture factory of H. Lauter & Co., with a frontage of 150 feet on Third street and 109 teot op North Fitth strect, Williamsburg, was totally de- stroyed by fire last night. The fire broke out in the engine room a few minutes afer eleven o'clock, and was speedily communicated to all the floors of the butiding by means of the shute through which the shavings were thrown down to the fire room. Five engines and two truck companies responded to the alarm, but in spite of their efforts, so inflammable was the nature of the stock, that @ total loss resulted. The loss will bec $48,000, on which there 1s bat 4 partial insurance. Wurrenant, N. Y., Nov, 13, 1877. Quindy’s sash ana door factory at Fort Aun, N. Y., was burned at sixo’clock this morning. The loss on the macbinery, mill and stock is estimated at over $10,000.
