TRIAL OF INSURANCE OFFICIALS. ‘There was a large attendance yesterday at the opens ing of the Court of Oyer and Terminer in the expece tation of the commencement of the trials of officers of the American Popular and Security Life Insurance Companies, charged with porjury in swearing to false returns to the Insurance Department. Oa the open- ing of the court by Judge Brady the partics thus in- dicted were arraigned to plead, comprising Dr. Thowag 8. Lambert, prosident; Dr. James Cruikshank, sec- retary, and Alex J, Reid, actuary of the American Popuiar Life Insurance Company, and Robert L. Carr, president, and Isaac H, Allen, secretary of the Secure ity Life Insurance Company.
