For some days past the subscription books of the New York Cab Company have been open at the bank- ing house of Messrs. Vermilye & Co., Nos, 16 and 18 Nassau street, and the stock is being rapidly subseribed fér. On next saturday the books will be closed, A peculiarity of the new Limited Liability act, passed at the last session of the Legislature, and unacr which the tompany is organized, is that there is no liability in- curred by the subscribers beyond the amount of sub- weription, It also guards the rights of sharebolders further in that it requires that balf the capital shall bo subscribed and ten por centupon tne amount sub- scribed shall be paid vefore the corporation can legally proceed, In addition'to the ten per cent to be paid down at the time of subscribing for this stock ten per, it more is payable on allotment, forty per cent in six months and forty per cent in twelve months, subject to the call of the Board of Directors, ‘The shares, which are for $100 each, have each twenty filty cent coupons attached, which can be detached at apy time by the owner and paid for fares to puny. All coupons not so used will vo red y ‘he company semi-anaoually, and the whole number will be renewed annually, to the registered holders ot shares, The surplus net ‘earnings over and above the ten per cent guaranteed to shareholders im the form of coupons is to be divided equally between the share- holders and incorporators, A careful estimate, at tho lowest rate of earnings and highest of expenditure, has Satisfied the promoters of the company tnat it will Tealize at least fifteen per cent on the investment on- nually, The organization of the company has not pro- ceeded thus iar without encountring the oppo: tion, pot only of those whose baggage sinashing {m- Positions on passengers und cruelty to horsetiesh havo arrayed them in conflict with the police and Bergh, but also of some railroad companies, whose conduct 1 dicates that they are in league with thore who ba heretolore proved a nuisance 1o every wayfarer in tniv city, and seek now to prevent on Saturday next the books will close with much more Vban the required proportion of subscriptions, and we days of irresponsibie baggage #mashing and ficecing of citizens and strangers will soon becume an experience of the past, RAILROAD IN ST.
