YESTERDAY'S COAL SALE, PRICES MATERIALLY ADVANCED If SCRANTON~< INFORMATION FOR THE POOR CONSUMER. Another noticeable coal sale occurred yesterday q the rooms of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Wester{ Railroad Company, No, 26 Exchange place. This wa the second salo by this company this tall, and thi sales show a material advance upon the price( realized on August 29, 100,000 tons of vm rious sizes having been knocked down withiq half an hour. The auctioneer was the same geptla man who disposed of the last lot. of 100,000 tong offered by the Pennsylvania Coal Company, and the sale yesterday was tho most satisfactory of the year, both as regards prices ‘realized and the manner ix which the sale was managed. None had cause to com plain of favor‘tism on the part of the auctioneer or ap: Parent sharp practice by agents of the company i prompting the auctioneer. THE CONDITIONS OF SALB. The company guarantee in the conditions that the sale shall be positive and no bids shall be made in the interest of the company.
