GENERAL BLAXTON T. BRAGG. * The sudden death of General Braxton T. Bragg, at Galveston, Texas, yesterday, is announced. Ho dropped dead in the street in front of the Post Office. ‘The General had been enjoying usual health up to the moment of attack, The cause of his death was syn- cope, induced by organic disease of the heart, Ho was aixty-ono years of age. General Braxton Bragg was born in Warren county, North Carolina, in 1815, and after recoiving a fair primary edacation, entered West Point in 1833. Ho was graduated im 1837, and was appointed Second Lieutenant of the Third Artillery, and served, mainly. His death was occasioned by a complication of heart disease and dropsy. HON. THADDEUS WELLES, 2 Hon, Thaddeus Welles, of Glastonbury, a prominen citizen of Cotmecticat, and the only brother of Hon, Gideon Welles, ex-Secretary of the Navy, died at Harte ford yesterday.
