No truer words ever have been uttered concern- ing the pending financid! problem than those of Daniel Webster, who, in one of his great speeches, said, ‘A sound currency is an essential and indis- pensable security for the fruits of industry and honest enterprise. Every man of property or in- dustry, every man who desires to preserve what | Legisiature. There is an open rupture between United States District Attorney Tenney, of Brookiyn, aud one of the assistant attorneys, Mr. William D. Hughes, which is said to have been caused by a mis- understanding as to the manner of the prosecution of Messrs, Sanborn, Hawley and Vanderwerken.
