Li BERET SRE HF THE OBSEQUIES OF NATHANIEL W. BELDEN. The Last Sad Rites to An Old and Es- teemed Actor in the Little Church Round the Corner. In the Chureh of the Transfiguration, situate in East Twenty-ninth street, were congregated yes- terday most of the prominent members of the thea- trical profession at present in this city. The place Of worship popularly known as “The Little Church Round the Corner,” was the same from which old George Holland was buried. Yesterday the re- mains of another old actor, Nathaniel W. Belden, better known in the theatrical profession under the name of N, B. Clarke, were borne from the quaint little edifice and consigned to their last resting Place. “When I ghuille oif this mortal coil,” said the old actor tow friend of his only’ @ few months since, during a conversation ‘in relation to George Holland, “I hope I may be buried from ‘that Little Church Round the Cor- ner,’ whose pastor spoke the last ‘words over poor George when otiers closed their @oors on him because he was an actor.” The old man’s living desire was carried out after his death, and the same clergyman, Dr. Houghton, who re: the funeral service over genial George Holland, yes- terday performed the same sad office over all that was left of bluff, honest, warm-hearted Nat Clarke. ong re One O'clock, the hour announced for the funeral rites, the seats in the little church be- came occupied. Seldom, indeed, does one witness together s0 many of the familiar faces of those who make New York laugh and minister to the plea- sures of her citizens, Rarely, indeed, do actors as- eine, om Thursday, April 18, where a solemn mass of requiem will be offered for the repose of his soul, ween tive of Arve, cet Ge maha wegeed ARE, @ native of Arva, Wan, Irelan 30. ee and 6 months, i ‘he relatives and friends of the family are respect- fully invited to attend the funeral, from the resi- dence of his brother, Edward Hare, 313 East Fourth street, on Thursday afternoon, at half-past one pestoens The remains will be interred in Calvary Jemetery. His friends and those of his brothers, John H. and Victor E., are invited to attend the funeral. from his late residence, 223 Sullivan street, this (Wed- nesday) morning, at half-past nine o'clock, to the Church of St. Joseph, where a requiem mass will be ae a the repose of his soul; thence to Oalvary lemetery. oe Monday, April 15, JAMES KELLY, aged 1 relatives and friends of the family are respect- ay invited to attend the funeral, from his late residence, 125 West Nineteenth street, where car- Bos will be in waiting, from thence to St. Fran- cis Xavier's church, West Sixteenth street, where there will be a solemn high mass at half-past ten semble in large numbers at the burial of one of their profession. For some reason or other— though from no lack of heart or feeling, for as a class they are warm-hearted—they are not to be met tn numbers at the biers of those who go before. Yesterday the rule was reversed, and actors, old and rine, thronged to the little weather-beaten church ‘twenty-ninth street, to take their last look upon the face of one of the few now left of those who grew with the growth of the drama in this city almost from its infancy. He was truly one of th Mnks which connect us with the past, as mygh, if fio more 80, than George Holland, whose Reha he was. Among the crowd yesterday who passed by the coftin of the deceased were some who in years pd by fretted their brief hour on the mimic stage the same company with him. But few of them now remain; the old stock is fast passing away; a very few years more and they will all be numbered With the past. From the church the remains of the favorite old actor were borne by fond friends to Greenwood Cemetery, there to sleep his last sleep. We are such stuf? As dreams are made on; and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. <te- THE REAL ESTATE MARKET. Important Sales of Uptown Property. The most important sale of the week took place yesterday.
