A Paterson Reporter Arraigned Before tho Pp Courts. The. fact was mentioned in yesterday's HERALD ofa presentment having been found by the Grand dary ot the Paterson courts against William Nelson, the local editor of the Paterson Press, tor having Pablished the confession of Ltbble Carrabrant that Van Winkie Bogert had poisoned Kansom F, Burroughs, in deflance of the summons of the Grand Jury not to do so and promising them that he would not, Nelson was accordingly arraigned before the Ooart ‘Judge Bedie presiding) yesterday afternoon. At the saggestion of the Court Nelson made a state- ment of how he nad procured the contession, and, 4 being @ current rumor, thought 1t no secret, The reason the Grand Jury had desired the suppression of the matter was because Bogert nad not been ar- Yested, and it was feared that he would seo the arti- ole, take warning and make his escape. Nelson ox. Plained that he understood Bogert had been ar- and cowd sce no reason why the matter al be suppressed. Furchermore, the request of the Grand Jury cate so late that it would mate- rially delay the issue of the paper. Judge BEDLE, at the conclusion of Mr. Nelson’s statement, spoke substantially as tollows:— ‘The Court will deal with this matter without further action, fas it was one of those cases in which they were willing to accept the atetement of the parties interested as being the What the Court proposed to do, therefore, waa in re-, Mance on this statement being tue trath.
