King William sends by telegraph the following despatch to Queen Augusta, dated at Versailles on ‘the 30th:— ‘The Sixth corps yesterday repulsed a sortie of the French near L’Hay, on the South of Paris. Over 100 French prisoners were taken, and several hun- ared dead and wounded were left on the fleld, ‘The French also made sorties on the positions of the Wurtembergers and Saxons at Bonnuell, Cham- Pigny and Villicrs, to the cast and southeast of Paris. Yesterday (Wednesday) & great sortie was made from Paris by the French forces, estimated at 50,000 strong, against the position at Villiers held by the Wurtemberg troops, who were supported on the flanks by the Fourth and Sixth Prussian corps and the corps of the Prussian Guards. TELEGRAM TO THE NEW YORK HERALD, Despatches from Generals de Tampling and Oberwitz—Particulars of the Great Sortie Complete Repulse of the Freach—Losses on Bork Sides. BRRLIN, Dec. 2, 1870, The followmg despatch from General Tiimpling, the commander of the Seventh Prussian corps, was received in Berlin on Thar#day:— DEFEAT OF THE FRENOH. Agraud gortie occurred yesterday. The Frevel moved out against the Prussians and Wurten- bergers early in the morning. They were supported by the heavy cannonade of their® forts. Generals ‘trochu and Ducrot commanded, leading 120,000 men, Ab eleven o’ciock in the forenoon the French were repulsed by the Sixth corps and retired. Sub- sequently (at three o'clock in the afternoon) tho Wurtembergers, who had been reinforced by cay- alry and artillery, were attacked by the French. ‘The latter were again defeated, The German loases were trifling, DESPATCH FROM GENERAL OBERWIIY. On the morning of the 29th alt. the first sortie of the French garrison at Paris was begun at Choisy le Roi, L’Hay and Chevilly. Thejbattle in that neign- borhood lasted all the night of the 29th and wil the next night. DUCROT'S PRESENT POSITION. General Duerot then crossed the Marne, and vccu- pied Messly. Subsequently he evacuated that point, and engaged the enemy at Champigny, fighting his way to Brie. He then marched pack to the Marne, re-croased that river by eight pontoon bridges, and maintained his position on the bank. He took two guns from the Prussians, He has since taken posi- tion at Thernay. GAMBETTA ANNOUNOPS TH SUCCESS OF THE SORTIK. The city 1s intensely excited, In response tothe shouts of the people M. Gambetta appeared and praised Generals Trochn and Ducrot for their suc- cessful sortie, He also reiterated the statement that the French victory had conpelied the hasty evacua- tion of Amiens, and that the Germans from that point were hastening to the Assistance of the be sieging army. FRENCH REJOLUING IN LAVAL, A despatch received here from Laval, dated to- day, Says:—The city is overjoyed with the despatches: from M. Gambetta announcing the great suecesses: at Paris, where sorties were made in force, defeating the Prussians along the entire line. The line of batile was many miles M extent. A great number of prisoners and cannon have been captured by the French.
