THE JAPANESE COMMISSIONERS. Their Departure To-Day-—Visit of Matsmoro to the Herald Establishment. Tho Japanese embassy, which consists of Ontomogoro, first commissioner; Matsmoro-Tudaya, sacond cominis- sioner; Tukasawa-Ukikty, Secretary of Legation; Tudu- Senya, first interpreter; Seky-Seiupaty, second inter- preter and Tinno-Sinnogro, paymaster, leave for Japan to-day in the Paciflo Mail Steamship Company’s steamer Rising Star, This steamer will connect via the Panama Railroad with the stbamer Sacramento for San Francisco, where the embassy will be transferred to the steamer Colorado, which leaves San Francisco ou tho 4th of July for Yokohama and Hong Kong. Ogasawara-Kendon, first lieutenant, and Jovate-Haisa- Ku, the second liculenant of the Japanese navy, who camo to this country with the embassy, are to remain here until such time as the ram Stonewal!, which has been sold to the Japanese government, is in readiness to go tosea, when they will go in her to Japan. VISIT OF A COMMISSIONER TO THE HERALD ESTABLISHMENT, Yesterday afternoon Matsmoro-Tudayu, second com- missioner, visited the Heraup establishment and was escerted through the various departments of the build- ing. Tho Commissioner examined the interior arrange- ments of the editorial rooms with much interes:, and expressed himself much surprised at the systematic management displayed therein. The composing room struck him with unbounded amazement, with its myste- rious processes and the number of men’employed in it. In the stereotyping department, however, he was more at home, and professed a knowledge of the entire process, having, he said, read adetailed account of it, published in a Japanese journal, which had translated it from an American newspaper. What surprised him most of all, however, were the engines and presses in the basemert of the building, and he spent some time in examining, after the inquisitive Japanese fashion, every detail of their construction and in fecne| innumerable questions in reference to their capacity and the manner of working them. On leaving the building, having spent some time in admiration of its busi- ness office arrangements, both astonished and delighted with the establishment, equally for the wonders it con- tained, the magnitude of its business machinery in beh deparimeat, and its grea: beauty within and without, FORTRESS MONROE.
