The Bribery and Corruption Committee made a partial report this morning, stating thus farnot a cle of evi oe bad been elicited to show guilt, indelicacy or even imprudence on the part of any candidate for United States senatorship, and that those who made charges had failed entirely to prove them. MASSACHUSETTS LEGISLATUI Bostow, Jan. 11, 1867. In the Legislature to-day the report of the commis- sioners on the hours of labor was presented. Two of the commissioners are of the opinion that no legislation is expedient or necessary on the subject. The third ' commissioner reports in favor of the enactment of ten hours asa legal standard for aday’s labor in the ousi- Ress contracts of factories and farms, and @ similar @fiactment of eight hours as @ legal standard in the ee, contracts for mechanical labor. House Judiciary Committee were to-day directed to'consider the expediency of abolishing the reading and writing qualification for voters, Governor Bullock sent to the Legistature to-day letter received by him from Governor Orr, of South Carolina, which contained the following passage:— I pare, the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your com- muhication enclosing a copy of the resolution of the State of Massachusetts, directing certain books to be provided and sent to this State, in application to vou.
