Yosterday afternoon another great fire occurred in this city, resulting in the total destruction of one of our welt known places of dramatic entertainment. Between the hours of four and seven o'clock P. M. the entire struc- ture known as the New Bowery theatre was crumbled {nto ruinous masses, loaving scarcely anything to identify {t except the supporting columns and arches which formed the front entrances. About twenty-five minutes Past four o'clock the residents of Elizabeth street wore Startled by vivid flashings of light which gleamed un- steadily in the windows and glanced om the dark gray clouds above. Immediately the flames burst out from three windows in the rear wall, when the alarm was givon and thousands burried to the scene.
