Baw FRaxcsoo, Oct. 10, 1866. QUEEN EMMA REVIEWS THE LIGHT ARTILLERY. On Saturday last her Majesty Queen Emma, at the in- vitation of Brigadier General French, Colonel of the Second Artillery, visited the Presidio to view the parade ana drill of light batteries A and M of that regiment, ‘The hour appointed was half-past cleven A. M., but it was half-past twelve P. M. before the royal party arrived on the ground, her Majesty having been taking a French breakfast, which meal {s generally long and rather heavy. Her delay was wondered at, for heretofore she bas been very punctual in all her appointments, As the royal carriages entered the enclosure the fag was ran up and a salute of twenty-one guns was fired by battery A, the Secoud Artillery band at the same time performed a national air, General French and staff rode forward to meet the Queen and accompanied her carriage to the position assigned for it, where the exercise could be geen to the greatest advantage, ‘THE PRERIDIO, The ground selected for the exercise 1s located between Fort and Black points, and forms part of the government reservation, Abouta mile back the land is high, but it slopes off gradually to the water of the bay and leaves a large space admirably adapted to the movement of a large body of troops.
