Tho stock market continues to display great strength and avimation, and its recuperative power is seen ia the rapidity with which it recovers from every depression produced by sales to realize. The speculative feeling is excited, and all the leading railway shares are bought iodiseriminately and with an avidity which has never Ween paraileted since the spring of 1864. The most active and buoyant of the railway shares are North- western common, Michigan Southern and Fort Wayne, The first mentioned rose to 47% this morning, maialy under the effect of the increased earn- jugs of the road, those for the first week of October having been 5,033 or $23,690 larger than for the cor- responding week last year, while the earnings for Sept- ember were $42,946 in excess of those for the same month in 1865. But apart from earnings and real values, every railway stock seemsjto be tending upwards ja sympathy with the great mass which moves by a common impulse. At the open board atten o'clock the market was very firm, Erie sold at 844%, Michigan Southern (b. 3) 91%, Northwestern 47%{—proferrea 76, Fort Wayne 110%, Reading 11%, Rock Island 108%, “Cleveland and Toledo 127, Toledo, Wabash and Western 5254 2.537%. The opening price was 15344, followed by an advance to 16414, a subsequent relapse to 162%4, and a final recovery to 153, the closing quotation, Loaus were made at 1-16 a 1-32 per cent im favor of the lender, and flat, the supply of coin being fully equal to the demands of borrowers. The shipment of specio by this day's steamers aggregated $166,200, of which the City of New York took $20,000, the Teutonia $65,000, and the Bremen $72,200, making for the week $198,050. The whole organization is on the qui vive to make the promised uprising in Ireland the preliminary step to the establishment of an Irish republic. Many wealthy merchants have voluntarily come forward and offered to give liberaily of their abundant means as soon as James Stephens makes a move, From Irish refugees who have Just landed in this country it bas been ascertained that the people on the other side are anxious and willing to ght, and are now only waiting to bave rifles put into their hands to make one last desperate eflort to throw off the hated yoke of England. It bas been computed that at least one bun. dred thousand rifles and ten thousand breech-loaders will be required to make a successful fight.
