- THE FENIAN WAR. A New One Against Union Square Begun. ‘HEAVY CHARGES AGAINST O’MAHONY, ‘Zhe Patriots Fighting Among ‘Themselves. ko. &e. ke. Bitter Demunciations of Head Centre @Mahony—The Border Warriors not Properly Supported by Him. Porramoura, N. H., April 27, 1866. Wm. H. Grace, Fenian organizer and captain in the late Eastport expedition, has arrived here from Portland, on his way home. He says the expedition would have been a success had General Killian been sustained. ‘He considers O'Mahony “‘an imbecile and a fraud on the public,” and says that the “only hope of success now 4s in supporting Roberts and Sweeny.’’ ‘Bo has told the Circle here to send no more money to Union square. | Return of Two Hundred Fenians from the Border—Matiny on the Steamer, d&éc. Portiaxp, April 27, 1866, ‘The New Brunswick arrived from Eastport this morn- ‘ing with two hundred Fenians. On leaving for Boston several who had gone ashore ‘were left behind. At the entrance of the harbor the Fenians, who were spoiling for a fight, mutinied, drew their pistols on their officers, and obliged the boat to put back. Some of the ringleaders were put ashore and sent on by rail, and the boat proceeded at nine o’clock. Our Portland Despatch. | .Portianp, Me., April 27, 1866, About two hundred Fenians arrived on the boat this 4 ‘morning from Eastport. Some of them landed here. General Roberts 1s reported on board. Considerable excitement has been caused by the re- i port that the captain got a number of the party ashore ; here and attempted to shove off and leave them, when ‘those on board threatened to seize the steamer unless ‘the vessel put back and took them onboard. The steamer ‘beat about the bay for some time, but finally the cap- tain took those on shore aboard and proceeded on the Very absurd rumors are afloat about an attempt to capture the steamer, but the’above are the facts as near as I can learn. ‘There are a number of Toronto Hibernians here. ‘The Fenians in This City. SUBSCRIPTIONS BY PRESIDENT ROBERTS AND THE SENATORS—ROBERTS AND SWEENY DETERMINED ON ‘‘ THE LAST RESORT.” ‘The Roberts-Sweeny headquarters begin to wear a mar- tial aspect, quite different from the quiet balls of Union ‘ e@quare. The two chief leaders, President Roberts and General Sweeny, are closeted together for many hours each day. The arms and sinews of war have aggregated & imniense quantities. Owing to the explosion of the Killian-O’Mahony movement, it is claimed by the others Roberta, latter giving twenty-five thousand of the amount. rrdyge ma a $< last regort to secure a fight, even Broeklym City News.
