That it will create some littie perturbation in both financial and commerce circlos is likely; for it. will go to absorb a large amount of currency, whieh, although interest bearing, is neyer- theless legal tender. It cannot but exert an influence, however slight, in checking that inflation of prices which has made such rapid progress during the last two years, and which has rendered the ordinary luxuries and even comforts of life beyond the reach of most persons living on wages and salaries.
