The lard market was active and a shade higher; sales 6,000 bbls. and tierces at 194gc. a 20450. The decrease in loans | Without decided change, exceeds a million of dollars, and the deposits have been reduced even more largely, the average decline being $1,177,500. The specte decreased moderately, and the legal tenders $1,461,862. The Boston exports last week were $227,835, against $175,554 for the corresponding period in 1863. The im ports were $982,227, against $728,153 for the same period do 1668 The Honeybrook Coal Company, of Penneylvania, bas declared a dividend of three per cent, free of government tax, out of the earnings of the months of May and Juue, payable after the 19th inst. The American Fire Insurance Company will pay on the Oth inst, free of tax, a cash dividend of ten per cent; algo, on the 1s: of August,a scrip dividend of fifty per cont, with six per cont intorest on outstanding scrip. The Atua Insurance Company of Hartford will pay on demand a quarterly dividend of five per cent, free of tax. The Fmpire City Fire Insurance Company will pay on demand a sem: annual dividend of ten per cent, free of tax. Brown. * ‘The special committee appointed to make arrangements for paying tho interest on the State debt due to foreign creditors in cofa reported that they had an joterview with the Comptrolier of the State and other gentlemen interseted They stated that the amount to be paid be- fore the next meeting of the Legislature is $104,000, which would require $250,000 in currency, aod that to pay the whole amount of principal and interest coming due ip that time would required $750,000 in currency The report of the committee was received, and they were discharged, as they were unable to raise money 10 pay principal ond interest, Captain Nys moved that a committes be appointed to recommenda that some suitable action be taken by the Chamber in refereuce to the brilliant achievements of the Kearsarge in sinking the Alabama, Mr Bioopaeop seconded the motion, and char torized the triumph of the Kearsarge as that of an Ame rican ship of-war over an Evglish war ship commanded by a rebel oflicer. He considered it a double triumph. The motion was carried, and Messrs. Howe, Nye, Mar- shail, Blunt and Grinnell were appointed a special com- mittee to recommend what action the Chamber ought to take in the matter, A Communication was received from E. Hall Covin, asking the Chamber to take some action relative to puri- fying ships arriving here with yellow fever or otber in- foctivue diseases. Reterred to a committee. The ( bamber then adjourned.
