Colone Taytor bad been ordered to duty elsewhere, and on the occaaton of his leaving the band of the garrison assembled ou the wharf and performed a number of appropriate melodies. Shortly before the heur the boat leaves, Colonei Taylor, accompanied by Colonel Moore; N. Falls, Prosident of the Bay Line Company of Baltimore steam. Captain T, G, (Baylor, Chief Ordnance officer; Dr. Suthoriand, Medical Director, and other officers, arrived on the wharf. Major General Foster aud a number of bis staff alxo came to the pier to bid the Colonel an affec- tronate farewell. CAPTORE OF BLOCKADE RUNS, A fow nights since Sergeant Sutclifie, of the provost guard, made an important capture of nine persons at- tempting to run the blockade. ‘she haul of the capturing party consisted of four wagouloads of goods and a large amount of gold and greenbacks. These parties were tried before Major Stackpole, Judge Advocate, and the following were the fines imposed:—George Bourdette, fined one hundred dotiars in gold; Benjamin Thomas (alias Taylor), twenty-five dollars, United States money; Jobn ©. He is the same whose escape, together with that of three other prisoners, was noticed im the late Richmond papers. GENERAL FALRCHILD'S FAREWELL. Yesterday General Fairchild visited the arty, and de- livered bis farewell address to his old regiment, the Second Wisconsin Volunteers. VANGOUVER TOWN SITES, ‘The return of the Burveyor General of Washingtoa Territory of the survey of the Vancouver town site, oa the Coltmbia river, roeieved at the Land Office, shows that nearly the whole of that town alte, comprising about twenty-three thousand acres, has been located and taken up under donation acts of Congress. The territory along the river and coasts, where gold is found, is being very rapidly settied, and the population increasing at a rate which will before long entitie it to admission as a State. INDIAN AFFAIRS ‘The Indian Bureau has been advised by Jobo Evans, Indian Superintendent and Commirsioner of Coloraso ‘Territory, that on the Tt inet. he eflecteda treaty with the Tebegauchie band of the Uteh Indians, ceding lands heretofore beld by them im that Territory to the United Statens, He says the lands ceded are probably the most valiable ever purchased by the government from a single Indian tribe, including, as they do, nearly all of the mining lands yet discovered in Colorado, and in facts large amount of agricultural and graziog lands w addi tion thereto. Superintendent H. B.
