THK ARREST OF AGENTS OF KRLIBF ASSOCIATIONS, ‘The statement in regard to the arrost of Messrs. Wil- Mamson and Bloss, ageats of the Penosy!vania aud Michi- gan Relief associations, for the sale of old bandages, rags, &c., is incorrect in so far aa the property is said to havo bees old goverment property. {t waa tho property of the associations, aud was sold by Mr. Williamson and Dr. Blosa by order of the chairmen of the executive committees of the associations, and the proceeds depcsit- ed to thelr credit. The treatment of Mr. Wil- lameon by Colonel Baker was most arbitrary end unjust. Ho was refused permission to send for Judge Brady, chairman of the association, and other parties who cont'd provo his innocence. After several hours’ delay a dete from Mr. Williamson was delivered to Judge Brady, who immediately obtained an interview with Judge Turner, Agsistant Judge Advocate (ieveral, and upon bis representations of the facts io the case, Mr. ‘Williamson was released on parole, At a meeting of the association this evening 4 commit- tee was appointed to make a statement of the caso to the proper authorities, with a representation of the outra- geous treatment of the accused by Colonel Baker, and a demand for h's full and unconditional release (rom arrost, ‘and the removal of Baker from bis position as Provost Marshal of the War Department. The meeting was at tended by Juage Usher, Secretary of the Interior; Hon. J. J. The New York and Mighigan Relief Association also held meetings this evening to co-operate in the attempt to obtain redress for the past and security from similar outrages for the future.
