CORONER'S INQUEST—ADDITIONAL ARRESTS, ETC. The investigation into the circumstances attending the murder of William Williams, a negro, at the corner of Leroy and Washington streets, on the 14th alt. ; was com- menced yesterday at the Sixth precinct station house by Coroner Naumann, In addition to John McAllister, the Police of the Twenty-eighth precinct succeeded in ar- Testing two men, named Edward Canfield and James Lamb, who have also been identified as participators in the murder. The prisoners were present during the examination, and manifested great interest in the progress of the caso, Captain Dickson, of the Twenty-eighth precinct, testified to finding deceased at the corner of Leroy and Washington streets, in a dying condition. The injured man was re. moved to the hospital; but he only lived afew hours, A large block of russ pavement, weighing about tweuty pounds, was lying near deceased, Sergeant Grant deposed that he was in company with Captain Dickson when deceased was found; the negro was covered with blood and seemed as though he had been pounded with a large paving stone which was lying alongside him. The contents were damaged to the extent of about $1,000, and the Duilding about $200. The stock was insured in the La- fayette Fire Insurance Company of Brooklyn.
