8 ‘Additional Names of the Killed, Wounded and Sieh Soldiers. Tho vessel left the “White House,’ on the Pamunkey Yiver, on Tuesday morning, and arrived at Fortregs Mon- roe on the same evening. The medical staf at that time were Surgeon Wm. Knight, of the Eighty-seventh ‘New York Volunteers; Surgeon $8. Smith, of the Ninety- third Now York Volunteers, and Assistant Surgeon J. D. Lewis, of the Eighty-iifth New York Volunteers. Finding that the labor of attending upon so many ‘wounded men was tpo much for them, the medical gen- tlemen applied to Medical Director of the fortress for assistance, when the following volunteer surgeors were dclailed:—Dr. M. P. Orton, Dr, Alexander and Dr. Hill, The vessel left the fortress for this city on Thurs- @ay morning; but the weather being stormy, she had to Put into Delaware Bay, where she arrived at about two A.M. on Friday, She lay in the bay all that day and ‘untii four o’clock yesterday morning, when she started @gain for New York, where she arrived at four o’clock Yesterday afternoon. Knight and Orton. ‘The surgeons state that they are greatly indebted to the New York Sanitary Commission for a good supply of wines, jellies, bandages and the “ thousand and one ” other needful things with which they have been provi- ded. Thoy also are happy to inform ail interestod there- 4m, that, although the vessel is small, they have no cases Of contagious disease on board, the only cases of fever, ‘and those but few in number, having been contracted while camping on swampy ground.
