The Atlantic sailed to-day for Kurope, with $75,000 in specie on freight. Exchange closed variable; some bankers claim 106 per cent, but very good bills can be had all the way from 100 to 104. Money continues extremely tight; the best paper passes with difficulty at 12 a 18 per cent per annum, The panicky feeling under which the stock market closed last evening was aggravated this morning by the advices of disturbances in the Western currency in consequence of the decline in State stocks; and, as usual, in the present state of public feeling, the new event operated prejudicially on the market. The business of the day com- menced with a decline of 5 per cent in Virginias, Tennessees and Missouris. Railway bonds and bank stocks followed, with a proportionate decline; when the general railway share list was reached, the downward tendency, thongh very marked, was less destructive. The average decline, a8 compared with the prices of last even- ing, was not over two per cent, with a large busi- ness. After the first board stocks were generally better, on the scarcity of stock for delivery, At the afternoon session the market was steady; but after the board stocks closed heavy.
