MORK TROUBLE IN TAMMANY HALL—NOMINATION OF JUDGR WLSHORFYER AS JUDGE OF THE SUPERIOR COURT—A SECOND CONVKNTION HELD AND THE NOMINATION DENOUNCED. A mectivg of ihe Judiciary Convention was held at Tammany Hall last evening for the purpose of nomi- nating & person to Mill the vacancy of Judge of the Supe- rior Court, im place of Judge Pierrepont, who has resigned. ‘The notices to attend were not handed to the members until at least one o'clock, and many of them got no notice ‘at all. The consequence was that but very few of the delegates were present, and the chosea tew that wore there had it all their own way. ‘The meeting was presided over by Mr. Wm. M. Twaxp, who roge and stated the object of the meeting. As soon ‘asthe President bad concluded, a motion was made to nomipate Judge Ulshoeffer, but before the question was A. In this second meeting they strongly Gepovunced the action of the previous meeting as tyrannical and absurd, and afwr speaking in the strongest terms agaiust (be hasty and illegal action of the previcus Convention, they adjourned to meet aguin on Wedneeday evening. any of the delegates presented themselves for admit- tance to the Convention, but, because they bad no tickets, they were not allowed to go up to the room, althouga they were well known. Creat indignation was maoi- fested by ali at this method of proceeding to nominate, and the opposition Convention of Wednesday evening will, no doubt, be well attended, MEETING OF THE PEOPLE'S UNION DEMOCRATIC AS30- TATION, A mecting of this Association of the Eighth Assembly district took place last evening at eight o’clock, at 429 Grand streot. The meeting was called to ordor by Mr. Joux H. Fras, President of the Association. The miautes of the last meeting were read by Mr. W. J. Durserow: Secretary, and approved. Mr. Joun Faxt, President, then addressed the meeting on the rights of the people and the duty they owe, not only to themselves, but to society, by the exercise of their rights in nominating candidates for political offices, and in the conscientious performance of this duty they had nominated Mr. Nicholas 1, Haosen as candidate for this Cistrict, though be is not connected with eltber the ao- vart or Tammany Hall branch of the democratic party.
