The Grand Duchess Anne of Russia died at Elfessan, Princess Julienne Hen- burg Gotha, the original titles of the deceased, was born September 28, 1781, and was a daughter of Ernest I., and sister of King Leopold, the reigning King of Belgium, and Princess Vietoria, afterwards Duchess of Kent, the mother cf Queen Victoria, and cousin to the Prince of Wales. ‘She was married to the Grand Duke Constantine of Rus- Sia —who renounced his heirship to the throne of Russia in favor of his brother Nicholas, in 1625—February 26, toarriage was brought to pres by the grandmother of the | ¢, but it soon after proved that the parties were too young, and the Duke eccentric, passionate and turbulent.
