There, were over four thourand head marked down on the ’jooks at Allerton’s great Washington drove yard for tha week, and the tulk of them were on fale to-day. The v.rge receipts of lart week enabled butchers to procure a good supply at a low range of prices. In view of this fart they were but indiferent purchasers today, et best, but to this was adced tke fact ihat the receipts were ugain very heavy, aud the poor average quality of tke offerings, tended to make them stil) less amxious to operate, and prices in cop sequence declined fuily ‘half a cent a pound on the lower grcer, and pearly es much on the ovbers, The highest Price paid was nine cents, except im rare inetences, and ‘the greater part of the offerings usually classed ar good 10 prime, were placed at about €3,c. per pound. A good many of the inferior offerings were hard of sale, even at lowest prices—6o. to To. per Ib.—and the average be ould ‘uot have much exoseded ‘Tage.
