G, Cornell, Esq.» presiding. ‘The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and approved, several routine papors were received and laid over for future action. COMMUNICATION FROM CITY INSPECTOR. A communication was received from the City Inspector, in which he states that the efforts of his department haye in a measure been found unavailing in preventing the de- posit of garboge in the streets from tenement buildings, owing to the neglect of the owners iu not furnishing suit- able accommodations to the tenant. He s: that in the absence of garbage boxes the street is’substituted, causing >mplaint and remonstrance from persons residing in the neighborhood of these establishments against a longer continuance of this abuse. He submitted an ordinance compelling the owners of tenement buildings to have d before each house a garbage box, of such con- struction and dimensions as may be approved by him. On motion of Mr, Orrarson the ordinance was referred to the Committee on Public Health. WY 18 NOT THE CTY HALL REPAIRED? THE TWELFTH REGIMENT. The report of the Joint Special Committee in favor of memorializing the Governor to reorganize the ‘Twelfth regiment was presented, and on motion of Mr. Lasnixe, the Bourd concurred in its adoption.
