Not long since be fell in with a Jew named J. Branswettor, alsoa jeweller, of 18 North William street, aod who, it is alleged, is a receiver of stolen goods. Berrian being easily led, it eppears that he was induced by Branswetter to rob his employers at various times of gold filings, valued at gevoral hundred dollars, nad which Branewetter paid him for. Mr. Fitch, ove of the firm, flading that ho was daily losing gold filings, called to his assistance the above | officers, whom he desired to ferret out the guilty party. ‘The officers kept @ close watch on several in their employ, and yeaterday followed Berrian to Branswetier’s place in Wiiliam street.
