Ovr telegraphic summary from Halifax, published on ‘Wednssday, embraced the main points of the news. ‘The reports given to-day of the successful working of the Atlantic cable at its Irish terminus will be read with fatisfaction. ‘The Paris Presse of the 7th instant, in its weekly com- merciai review, ays that— Business among the manufacturers of Paris continues to progress ins rege lar manner, and in almost every brauch the orcers bi for home consumption and for foreign markets are sufficient to keep every band well haya ong The sccounts from the manufacturing districts are also . At Tourcoing, Roubaix and Lille all hands are at Work on orders received for the autumn and winter trade, ana prices generaily are on tho advance. At lyons there ia still a waat cf bande; but a number of the weavers, who had left that city ne the slack period, have begun to return.
