Chilton testified that the had snalyzed two bottles cf liquid, containing red sediment (which had been prescribed for deceased by Dr. Baumen), and ‘ound that it consisted of some vegetable ‘tincture of a purgative character; by the action of testa he cou'd not posi'ively determine what it was; from its taste and purgative action, he believed it to be jalap; the Fed sediment in the bottles consisted of vermiliim, with a Httle cream of tartar, which weighed eighteen grains. ‘The jury rendered a verdict that Anton Lebler came to his death by the gross ignorance of one John Bauman, = attended him as a physician, in administeriag medi- eine which caused the death of said Anton Leoler, and that the said John Bauman ie goilt of malpractice.
