Turspay, Jcty 24.—The argument on the application to admit to bail Patrice McLaughlin alias Paudeen, charged with being accessory to the marder of Poole, was continued by Mr. Daniel I. Sickles. The first point which he presented was the argumeat that the prisoner, by the 26th, 29th and 30th nections of the Revised Sta tutes, was entitled to be balled, owing to the lapse of the term of one Court of Oyer and Terminer sod three Courts of Sessions, at which the prisoner might have been brought to trial. ‘The Judge suggested that counsel should piace little reliance on that point. Mr. Sickles did not mean toargue the point for the discharge of the prisoner, but for hia being admitted to bail—and he proceeded to read the three sections of the acts bearing upon that point, whish he considered ex- plicit and almost peremptory. And on them he asserted Board of Supervisors. JULY 24.—In the absence of His Honor the Mayor, ‘His Honor the Recorder was called om to preside.
